Partner Sid Kistler and Associate Jeffrey Hall obtained dismissal of a complaint alleging fraud and negligent misrepresentation in connection with the sale of stock in a corporation. The plaintiffs brought suit in Reno, arguing that they were fraudulently induced by the corporation’s board of directors into purchasing shares of the company. More than $1.5 million in damages were sought against the Firm's client. The dispute between the parties also involved active litigation in both Chicago and Canada. Kistler and Hall moved to dismiss the complaint, arguing that the plaintiffs filed their complaint in Nevada to unnecessarily burden the defendants and duplicate the cost of litigation. The Court agreed and dismissed the complaint against the corporation. Hampson, et. al. v. Live Current Media, Inc., et. al., CV11-01626, Washoe County, NV.
