Associate Shannon Wilson wins Louis Wiener Pro Bono Service Award

Hutchison & Steffen is pleased to congratulate Shannon R. Wilson for receiving the Louis Wiener Pro Bono Service Award from the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LACSN). Wilson received the award on December 11, 2015, during LACSN’s Pro Bono Awards luncheon for her work on behalf of domestic violence victims. The award is given yearly in memory of Louis Wiener for his dedication in helping victims of domestic violence, and honors someone who has made substantial contributions in representing victims. In 2015, Wilson spent more than 100 pro bono hours representing victims for the LACSN. “We are proud of Shannon and the hours of work that she devoted to helping victims of domestic violence that earned her this award,” says Firm co-founder and managing partner, John T. Steffen. “Working with the community is an important part of the philosophy of what makes Hutchison & Steffen a great place to work, and we are pleased that Shannon has not only embraced this ideal, but done so in a way that has protected those that need it the most.”

In addition to Wilson’s pro bono work with LACSN, she also serves on the LACSN Pro Bono Advisory Council and is the Firm’s liaison to orchestrate pro bono matters and service hours amongst dozens of the Firm’s attorneys. Since joining the firm in 2006, Wilson has practiced in Hutchison & Steffen’s litigation department, practicing primarily in insurance defense, commercial litigation, and family law. Additionally, she practices in administrative law and is a member of the firm’s Healthcare Professionals Advocacy Group. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Southern Maine before obtaining a Juris Doctorate from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Nevada.
