Biography
Tanya S. Gaylord is an associate of the Firm, practicing primarily in business and commercial litigation, trust and probate litigation, family law, and Real Estate Law. She is admitted to practice in Nevada.
Originally from Bulgaria, Tanya graduated from the Technical University in Sofia with a Master of Science degree in Electronic Engineering. She then worked as a computer programmer and as a sales and marketing manager with an emphasis on import/export operations. Tanya earned her Juris Doctor degree from the William Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2009. She attended law school in the evening while working full-time as a regulatory analyst and legal assistant for a local telecommunications provider.
During law school, Tanya served as a Notes Editor on Law Review, student judicial extern for the Honorable James C. Mahan of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada, and a research assistant for Professor Raquel Aldana. Tanya also participated in the Immigration Clinic as a student-attorney where she represented victims of human trafficking and domestic violence, and won her first case resulting in the naturalization of her client in open court. For her academic performance in law school, Tanya earned CALI awards in Trial Advocacy, Advanced Legal Writing and Analysis, and Immigration Law, and a spot on the Dean’s List. Tanya joined the Firm in fall 2010 after a one-year clerkship for the Honorable Mark R. Denton, one of the three Business Court judges in the Eighth Judicial District Court.
Personal Background
Tanya moved to the United States (Las Vegas) in 2000 to join her husband, Rex, whom she had met while he was working for the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tanya and Rex have three children. Away from their busy offices, they enjoy spending time with family, kayaking, participating in dog shows, and traveling.
